Fashion is passion for her. Right from her college days, she wanted to become Fashion Designer. Her dedication and family support earned the name in fashion industry and now she is the Director, IIFT, Dwarka Branch . Yes she is none other than Ms. Ashima Bajaj . She is soft, gracious and source of information fashion and always helpful to upgrade the knowledge of her students and guide them well to create name and fame in the industry. Q. When you started your IIFT Dwarka?
Ans. I started IIFT DWARKA CENTRE on 20th AUGUST,2006. It is located at B-886, 2ND FLOOR, SECTOR -7, RAMPHAL CHOWK, Dwarka
Q. What is your background in the fashion industry? What & from where you did course?
Ans. I did 2 years advance diploma from IIFT itself & successfully in 2006 only.
I am a fashion designer also. I always ready to attend the seminar/workshop and fashion shows to upgrade my fashion skills.
Q. Who inspired you to come into this profession?
Ans. As I completed my course, my aim was to become a fashion designer as well as I wanted to get into teaching / guiding. This was a great opportunity & platform for me. So, I got inspired from my seniors and as well as Mr. LAL (C.E.O., IIFT).
Q. What is the formal qualification to join IIFT?
Ans. The formal qualification to join IIFT as a student is 10 +2 & as a faculty the candidate should be a professional diploma/degree holder.
Q. What are the qualities, a person should possess, to make his/her career in it?
Ams. The qualities, a person should posses ,to make his/her in it is
a) full of confidence , b)talented , c)creative, d)communicative and active.
Q. Whether your centre having experienced faculty and good infrastructure?
Ans. Yes, definitely we have an experienced and well-qualified faculties as well people from different industries as guest lectures. We also do have a good infrastructure including as it is fully air conditioned, all the facilities are there like separate classes for different departments and library, personal lockers, computers, music, internet, transport etc.
Q. What is the scope of employment after completing the training from your institute? Placement provision if any.
Ans. We provide 100% placement to the student. Our students are placed in very high status export houses, designer studios, reputed companies and institutes.
Q. How many courses you are offering? Pls. explain with eligibility and duration.
Ans. We are offering varieties of courses such as IIFT-INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF FASHIONL TECHNOLOGY- FASHION DESIGNING, INTERIOR DESIGNING. JEWELLERY DESIGNING, ACCESSORY DESIGNING, TEXTILE DESIGNING, APPAREL MERCHANDISING, PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT, FOREIGN LANGUAGES, SHORT TERM COURSES, IIRM-INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF RETAIL MANAGEMENT-RETAIL MANAGEMEN, FASHION ENTREPRENEURSHIP BRAND MANAGEMENT, APPAREL MERCHANDISING, VISUAL MERCHANDSING, FASHION LIFESTYLE, FUNDAMENTALS OF BUSINESS COMMUNICATION . As far as the eligibility is concerned, 10 + 2 can do these courses and the duration of them are 3 MONTHS, 6 MONTHS,1 YEAR ,2 YEARS,3 YEARS and even B.SC DEGREE PROGRAMMES ALSO AVAILABLE. Students can attend EARLY MORNING/MORNING/AFTERNOON/EVENING/WEEKEND CLASSES. There is no age bar. We also offer CREATIVE HOBBY COURSES like ALL TYPES OF PAINTINGS, CANDLE MAKING, POT DESIGNING, CHOCOLATE MAKING, TANJORE, RELIEF/3D RELIEF, FLOWER MAKING & MANY MORE ........
Q. Have you conducted any workshop or fashion show at your Dwarka centre?
Ans. We keep on conducting various workshops related to the courses as well as outside the courses, we keep on organising different trips and visits to the industries, designer studios, events outside delhi for the practical knowledge for the students as per to the industry demand. Our Institute also organises fashion shows and other events to promote the students of our institute.
Q. What's & when you are offering new courses for the students of Dwarka?
Ans. We are always present in the institute to counsel and guide the students from 09-30 a.m. to 07.30 p.m. (sundays - on appointments only)
Q. How many IIFT centres are there in Delhi and India?
Ans. There are 70 centres in INDIA and Abroad & there are around 12 centres in DELHI.
Q. What are your/Centre achievements? Pls. explain.
Ans. There are few ACHIEVEMENTS of OUR CENTRES Best Centre for DESIGNING (in fashion show 07), Best CREATIVE STUDENTS AWARD, Best ANCHORING STUDENTS AWARD, Ms.IIFT AWARD etc.
Q. What is your future planning to promote your Dwarka Centre?
Ans. We want to promote IIFT DWARKA CENTRE in a very well way as IIFT has his own name famous worldwide. We have to maintain the dignity of IIFT. We want to teach and guide the students in a proper technical way and provide placement in reputed companies. Looking forward to seek your support and join your website as a member.
Q. Do you have part time courses for working/ housewives?
Ans. Yes, we have part-time courses for house wives & working women. Anybody who wishes to join iift & wants to make his / her career they can straightaway come down to our centre and join us.
Q. What is your experience with Mr. Lal?
Ans. My Experience with Mr.LAL is very good. He is a thorough gentleman & very nice human being and well qualified person. He is always very much supportive. He is down to earth person but on the other side he is very much professional. He is my ideal and inspiration. It is really honour for me to work with him because he offers excellent platform to all who are passionate about this industry and want to do something unique. I really appreciate him and thank him.
