To create a sense of brotherhood, cooperation, mutual harmony and affection amongst the members of the society and also amongst general public by organizing discussions, seminars, public meetings, etc. on the issues
To provide a platform for intellectual development of members of national/international importance.
To strive for development, maintenance and management of various infrastructural facilities like community centres, auditoriums, cultural centres, libraries, film society, theatres etc.
To provide a platform for organizing cultural activities like literary seminars, poetry-reading sessions, dance recitals and musical concerns.
To organize activities promoting interest in arts/dances/music.
To strive for allocation, development, maintenance and management of religious places of all faiths including Temple complex comprising, Ashram Learning Center and Rest House.
To take up the other issues of social welfare like empowerment of women, education of underprivileged sections and take steps to improve their well being.
To bring out a journal/magazine to inform all members about our activities.
To honour individuals/societies/associations doing yeoman's service in the field of social service/cultural/literary activities by starting DWARKA RATNA PURASKARS.
Organisational Setup
DLKM is headed by president, who is chief executive officer and directs all of its activities. Our present president is 35-year young dynamic, versatile Sh. DP Vajpayee. Mr. Vajpayee, holds B. Tech degree from IIT, Bombay and M.Phil degree from JNU, New Delhi. He is communications engineer by profession and social worker by choice. He has vast experience of being in public life since his academic career. A former IIT Bombay General Secretary, presently he is president of Sector 6, Pkt –1, RWA.
Governing council holds office for the period of 3 years. Present organisational set up for the years of 2005 –2008 is as under: -
DLKM has pursued for just and proper settlement of property Tax and it has been first in Delhi to welcome implementation of “Unit Area Method” of property tax calculation. By its consistent efforts, MCD has agreed to charge the tax for the years before 2004 also by “Unit Area Method”. To facilitate residents of Dwarka, it has organised 4 property tax payment camps at various locations in Dwarka. It is still pursuing for category reduction of Dwarka.
BSES electricity bill collection box has been installed at Sector 6, Pkt –1, DDA flats.
Filed public interest litigation (PIL) over insufficient supply of water and highest tariff .
