  • Are Delhi police listening?

POLICE- PUBLIC MEETING was held at GOKUL GARDEN , SEC-7 and a healthy discussion on law and order situation in DWARKA was the main topic of the evening. Dwarka City & Delhi Lions Club jointly organized the said meet. The President/ Gen.Secy. of different societies put some demand before the Additional DCP Mr.R.K.Verma , ACP- Mr.S.R.Yadav , S.H.O.- Mr.Tilak Raj Mongia and Additional S.H.O.- Mr.Anil Kumar .
On behalf of Dwarka Forum , Mr. Rejjimon forwarded a request which included the following points:
    1) What is the BEAT CONSTABLE Job description? Are they to prevent crime in all means? If so what their deliverance, what is their supervisory officer accountability (hierarchy wise). If beat constables work along with over 1000 Private Guards approximately working in various CGHS/DDA pockets ( average 5 guards in 200 CGHS/DDA Pockets). These guards will add in strength of DP staffs. Dwarka will be safer and secure.
    2) What is the role of DP in implementation of NO TOLERANCE ZONE ?
    3) Are they enough PCR Vans and PCR bikes in Dwarka?
    4) Effective implementation of Motor Vehicle Act by Traffic Police in letter and in spirit INSIDE Dwarka.
5 )There are a number of Police Chowkis in Dwarka, but they are not performing their responsibilities properly. Road side vendors, catering vans, redi walas are abundant around such chowkis. Police officials are supposed to remain alert and take preventive action. But, every time the local citizen is forced to make complaints to initiate action for the removal of wrongly parked vans and redi walas. Thereby the enmity grows between the person who makes complaint and the public. This needs to be avoided.
6 ) Installation of Signal light is urgently required at the crossing of sector 4, 5, 11 & 12 where the second commercial center is coming up and a temple is also present there. Heavy traffic jam at nights is a regular feature at this crossing and accidents are also no rare.
    7) Plot No 6, Sec 10 Dwarka is vacant, probably belongs to YWCA. The plot is a den of prostitution even in the daytime . Round the clock the trade is on full blast. It is a public nuisance.
    8) Young generation are adversely affected due to easy acess to ever increasing wine shops.

    Miscellaneous
    - Parking problem at various markets in dwarka
    - Requirement of more Traffic Police
    - Implementation of Online computerised Police Complaints system
    - Path to metro station from various sectors not safe due to long bushes, darkness
    - The screening & training of security guards at societies should be made mandatory

  • Emotional Adieu to Ganesha.

    Swati

The week-long Ganesh Utsav celebrations in the sub-city, organised by the Maharastra Mitra Mandal, Dwarka, concluded with Ganpati visarjan at Hari Nagar lake. With visarjan, it  was also a sad adieu to the euphoria and excitement of celebratory mood that reigned all through the utsav days. Amidst shrieks of ‘Pudhchya Varshi laukar ya'…….meaning come back soon next year, the idol was immersed on 23rd, Sunday.  Before that, Puja was done at True Friends CGHS, the venue where the idol was installed.  In the morning Satyanarayan puja and Maha Prasad was organised.

With much pomp and grandeur Ganapati Bappa was brought and installed at True Friends apartments, Sector-6, Dwarka on 15th September. The Maharashtrians are particularly passionate about Lord Ganesh and for them Ganesh Utsav is marked by an intense emotion. During utsav days, the Lord becomes family, to be worshipped with utmost love and devotion, before he is tearfully bid adieu. The festival celebrated by Maharashtra Mitra Mandal of Dwarka has definitely given a chance to Maharashtrians living in cosmopolitan Dwarka to go back to their roots and have a feel of their traditional culture, food and music.  The Mandal successfully organized blood donation camp on 15th. Simultaneously exhibition of Uday Kulkarni, a renowned artist of Dwarka was also held which was inaugurated by Addll Commissioner of Police (Traffic) M.S. Upadhye. The utsav also served a platform for many talented people to showcase their attributes. Kasturi Attrawalkar, a resident of Dwarka captivated the audience by her melodious rendition of Marathi songs.  The magic show on Wednesday was a complete hit amongst children. The venue was jam packed for the much awaited Kavi Sammelan organized by well known poetess Kirti Kale along with ten other poets. The kavi sammelan was enjoyed and appreciated by all. Vividha, an inhouse cultural programme of children was also a major attraction. All dances were choreographed by Chitra Vishwanathan. Children also enjoyed the play 'Tenaliram'. Flats Sector-14, Pkt.1. In a public meeting with T.V. Channel (Delhi Aaj Tak) the residents of the said pocket revealed lot inconvenience, even the Sushil Kumar-Gen. Secy. of the locality blamed the officials (M.C.D. & D.D.A.) who never take interest to solve their basic problems. Although 20-25 water tanks come daily to fulfill the requirements of the residents but they provide underground water which is not hygienic at all. Even Mr.R.D. Ahirwal & Ashwani Kumar pointed out that we don't have the proper approach as well inner roads. Moreover, the large bushes standing in the public park in front of the pocket, is also problem creating, because this is the approach road for Sector-13 Metro station, but its very insecure root for the females. The R.W.A. has written several letters to the different departments but the situation remain the same, there is no improvement at all. The local Counsellor –Mrs. Dhanpati Gahlout also attended the said meeting and she noted the grievances of the resident and assured them to solve their problems with in a months or so.

In fact, the connecting path to Metro stations are unsafe from many sectors. So the incidents like robbery, chain snatching etc. are increasing in Dwarka.
Nearby road connecting to Metro stations should be well - lit. There is darkness on the road connecting sector-9 metro station to ITL Public school. Many passengers have been attacked by the anti social elements. Metro authority should take up the issue with concerned authorities and ensure the safety of the passengers. It is learnt that many people are avoiding Metro due to this dirty, longer zig-zag and unsafe path

  • FORUM FOR CGHS AFFECTED MEMBERS

The faith of thousands of members and their families of dozens of Group Housing Societies has shaken in the existing administrative dispensation of the Govt. of the NCT of Delhi as they feel deprived of their lawful right to have roof over their head. The office of the Registrar, Co-operative Societies, New Delhi has been making different alibis at different occasions for withholding of draw of lots for allotment of flats. The usual pretext for non-clearance of the list by the RCS office are investigation of 135 societies by the CBI, shortage of manpower, non compliance by the societies of Rule 24(2) of The Delhi Co-operative Societies Rules while enrolling members by them. As per provision of this rule, advertisements in two leading the newspapers - one in Hind and another in English - have to be issued and necessary procedure are followed before enrolling a member in the Society. It was stayed by the Hon'ble Delhi High Court in 1997. The factual position is that this rule 24(2) remained stayed till 6.7.2005 as per the records of the writ petition no.4130/97 titled Hind Co-op. G/H Society Ltd. and Other Vs. L.G. and other. This writ was disposed only on 7.7.2005.
